How to Handle Change Gracefully

9/2/2020 | Robert Rivest

Happy September! A time of change.
This time of year we not only experience a change of seasons, but also, many changes in our every day lives. Especially this year. My best advice for getting through times of tremendous change, is to connect with what is steady, honest, wholesome, true and supportive. Deepen your connection to what is always there for you.

Find a practice that helps you feel rooted, grounded and connected. Practice your practice daily. Remember, everything is interconnected. The way we eat, sleep, think, act, react, exercise and socialize, influences our mood, attitude and outlook.

Gift yourself some time to start your day in a positive way. When you first wake up in the morning, set an intention for the day. What is the word of the day? Kindness, compassion, mindful, focus, present, peace, calm, joy, peace, ease, love, light, are words that often pop up for me. How we start the day canhave a huge impact the entire day. I like to do breathing exercises, meditation, qigong and laughter yoga. The best prectice for you is one that you enjoy doing and look forward to every morning.

Find little moments throughout the day to reconnect with your body, your breathing and your mind. Visualize your body as a mountain, your breath as the wind, and you’re mind as the clear blue sky. Break the cycle of stress - that sneaky build up of tension - with few deep breathes. Take a few moments, just to be. Unplug and just be.

End your day in a peaceful way. Set a side a few moments for gratitude, loving kindness, or generosity meditation.
Prioritize practices that allow you to enter your dreams and deep sleep with peace and calm.

I am very excited about this Fall!
I have several amazing projects in the works and I'm eager to share my joy with the world.
